In 2019, James Home, whose background is in construction and carpentry, was asked to design a bespoke backyard room in Cambridge, UK. From that project he quickly recognized two things: a growing demand for backyard buildings and a lack of true innovation in the industry. He set out to change that by creating a better product and service for people who wanted high quality design delivered quickly.

This was the start of Okopod. Since then, James has led the delivery of more than 350 Pods, Extensions, Homes and Garages, using factory built construction techniques to achieve greater quality, precision and speed of installation.

Today Okopod is recognized as a specialist in the modular building industry, valued for its sustainable, premium designs and rapid installation. Following its success in the UK, the company has opened a factory in Southern California to introduce its innovative approach to the US market, offering Pods, ADUs, Homes and Garages.
