Family Playroom Creating Space For Play

When our clients approached us with a unique, triangular space left over in their backyard, we saw an exciting opportunity. They wanted a bespoke structure that would fit perfectly into the corner of their backyard, enhancing the overall feel of the space while maximizing its potential.

The primary use for this pod was to create a play area for their children. It would provide them with an ideal space to play freely at the end of the backyard, allowing them to make as much noise as they wished while giving the parents a much-needed break in their home. Additionally, the pod’s visibility from the house means parents can easily keep an eye on their children as they enjoy their time outdoors.

The children absolutely love having a space of their own, complete with large sliding doors that open directly onto the backyard, blending the indoors with the outdoors.

To enhance the pod’s functionality, we incorporated a sedum roof, which not only contributes to the overall thermal performance but also allows the space to be used year-round. This feature ensures that the pod remains comfortable, regardless of the season.

Finished in stunning STK Cedar, the pod features extra-large jet black aluminum sliding doors that add a modern touch. As night falls, the pod truly comes to life with remote-controlled lighting, allowing the family to enjoy their outdoor space well into the evening.

This bespoke backyard pod is a perfect blend of creativity and functionality, providing a wonderful retreat for the children while giving parents peace of mind. It’s a fantastic example of how we can transform unique spaces into delightful areas for family enjoyment.
