Creating a Multipurpose Garden Pod for Exercise and Relaxation

Our clients approached us with a clear vision for their garden: they wanted to transform the full width of the space into a versatile, multipurpose pod where they could enjoy leisure activities such as Peloton biking, yoga, and post-exercise recovery in a sauna.

A Sauna to Complement the Space

One of the key features of this project was the installation of a custom sauna. Working in partnership with Inca UK, we integrated a bespoke sauna that fits perfectly within the pod’s design. Whether it’s to relax after a workout or simply enjoy some quiet time whilst enjoying the views over the garden, the sauna adds a luxurious element to the space.

Aesthetics: Clear Cedar Cladding with a Barcode Twist

For the exterior, our clients chose Clear Cedar cladding. This wood is known for its light reddish to brown tones, with minimal knots that enhance its character. If left untreated, the cedar will weather beautifully to a silver-grey over time. What makes this pod stand out is the barcode effect created by the cladding—achieved by using a random combination of different widths, giving the exterior a dynamic and modern look.

Year-Round Comfort with Infrared Heating

To ensure the space could be used all year round, our clients opted for a ceiling-mounted infrared panel heater. This system, featuring Integrated SMART-R technology, can be controlled via Alexa, adding convenience and a touch of modern tech. The super-slim, frameless white heater blends seamlessly into the pod’s design, ensuring the space stays warm even during colder months. Combined with our highly insulated floors, walls, and ceilings, the pod minimises heat loss, making it efficient and comfortable no matter the season.

Custom Interiors: Parquet Flooring and Painted Walls

To add a personal touch, our clients chose parquet flooring and opted to have the walls and ceiling painted, rather than the usual birch plywood finish. This gave the interior a refined and contemporary look.
