With a vision to create two luxury eco Airbnb retreats in East Sussex—a one-bed and a larger two-bed pod—our client faced a major challenge: finding a cost-effective, practical foundation solution. Quotes for concrete piles and ring beams were sky-high, making the project seem unfeasible. That’s where Okopod came in.

Our fully building regulation-approved OKOBASE system, designed even for residential homes, provided a strong, durable foundation at half the cost of traditional piling methods. From there, we prefabricated and installed the pods quickly and efficiently, bringing the project to life in record time.

Positioned to take full advantage of the breathtaking views across the High Weald National Landscape, the pods feature smart, single-pitched roofs fitted with solar panels—angled perfectly to maximise sun exposure and generate renewable energy. Thoughtful design extends to the placement of windows and doors, allowing guests to enjoy stunning sunset views.

Inside, the retreats offer a warm, cozy atmosphere with matching bathrooms and kitchenettes, all finished in natural birch plywood. The first guest reviews are in, and they love the inviting feel of the space. The project has been such a success that the owners are already thinking about adding more Okopods to expand their business.
